Springtime THINGS, sweeties

Posted on 2008.04.09 at 10:13
Wooop!  Tomorrow morning at zee crack of 10:00 a.m. my plane will touch down in Las Vegas and I will be starting my fab weekend vacation at:

http://www.vivalasvegas.net

I am so excited I cannot stand it!   Miss Lynda (Lily LeRouge) and I are staying at the Orleans Hotel which has a free shuttle that goes back and forth between it and the Gold Coast where most of Viva Las Vegas is happening.

My suitcase - it is bursting with outfits.

In addition to all the Viva Las Vegas stuff, I’m taking many rolls of quarters to spend here:

http://www.pinballmuseum.org

OMG. I cannot wait. I LOVE pinball. I miss pinball. I need to tell Miss L and the others that if they don’t see or hear from me for more than 24 hours to send a search party directly to the museum’s location and pry me away so that I can go bathe and eat something.

If all that weren’t enough to be exciting - also on my list of THINGS to do is visit with Patticake. I haven’t seen her since Ye Olden New Orleans days, era of the Shim Sham. (Le sigh - Punk and Porno Mondays, how I miss thee.) I am also going to try and visit a bit with Rickylane and Allison as I hear from the Marquisdd that they are living well and doing fine in Vegas.   I have a cell phone and I'm not afraid to use it!

Now all I need is to get through this painfully intrusive Wednesday at work so I can finish all my pre-trip errands.

Also? Adrien Brody - you are HOT. I know I shouldn’t even think that in connection with the quick preview I saw this morning for some kind of movie that is probably playing on the Lifetime for Women Network where you were all creepy and abusive-like as you, with steely, danger-filled eyes and an almost psychotic tone of command in your Queens, New York accented voice ordered some woman to "GET IN THE CAR...NOW" - but I did, and I do. You East Coast lads, you make me weak in the knees. I wonder how many East Coast boys are going to be attending the Rockabilly Weekender this weekend...? Hmmmm.....

Rickilane and I spent Monday afternoon at the Pinball Museum and having drinks at the cute little bar next door. Highly recommend that course of action for a few hours.

Call him and there's a good chance he'll ditch work and drive you down there for games, drinks and catching-up. He loves that place as much as I do.

And make absolute sure you play the "Circus" game, which is in the front window to the right of the change machines. It's a vertical pinball machine — a prototype. Two were made, but the manufacturing cost prohibited it ever going into further production and circulation. The two prototypes went to the pinball co's CEOs, and one of them kindly donated his to the museum. Coolest thing ever.

Have a great time. Sorry about the shitty timing of my trip which ended late last night. But there will be more opportunities.

Call if you need anyone's #.

Oh god, I am more excited than ever now - I'm

totally calling Rickylane (and probably Patti) on Thursday when I arrive b/c I cannot check into the hotel until 3pm (at least they will hold my suitcase for me) and Linda isn't getting there until 10pm that night. I will just have to bide my time drinking, pinballing and catching up! Fun! I cannot wait to see them. Oh and thanks for the tips re the Pinball Museum - so excited!

Re: Oh god, I am more excited than ever now - I'm

If you put a $20 into the bar video poker next to the museum and let Rickilane show you how to play 25¢ blackjack, you'll drink for free, +/- $4.

God damn I love that museum. I actually schedule a "free day" on my Vegas trips now so I can spend an afternoon there each time.

It's a kind of expensive cab, but the Tropicana bus (from MGM Grand, going east towards McCarran) is a straight shot to the museum, which will be on the left in a strip mall with a "PINBALL" marquee on the street.

Ohhhhh - poo! I am also

tormenting myself b/c I will be missing your b-day celebrating with the GCC, NOLA and Denver chapters, this weekend! We'll have to try and remember to drunken text each other.

To that effect, HAPPY DAMN BIRTHDAY, a few days early!

Love ya honey.

Vegas sounds fab, darling! This is my Philly weekend so we both seem to have the same idea of escaping for a few days and playing!

Have a blast in Philly!

Getting out of town for a few days is just the ticket right now, I think.
